Commercial Drive is known for it’s impeccable coffee, but who knew they’re serving up Vancouver’s best sandwiches!? While searching for a bite to eat with a colleague a couple months back, someone suggested we try a sandwich at La Grotta Del Formaggio. We did. Delicious, fresh, and all for $6 – Sold! Of course a stop with Kendra for eat. sip. shop was next in order:)
The shop carries a delectable selection of cheeses, olive oils, imported Italian treats, pasta – basically a market taken right out of a small Italian town + placed on Commercial Drive.
loads of capocollo, pesto mayo, provolone cheese, artichokes, roasted red peppers, eggplant, olive oil + vinegar – grilled to perfection!
There isn’t any seating inside as it’s more of a deli than a restaurant, but there are plenty outside – bundle up + enjoy!
ps: after finishing your sandwich, walk next door to Fratelli Bakery and indulge in their sweets. No meal is complete without dessert.. 🙂
