Fair trade coffee beans + cacao from around the world to make chocolate locally right from the bean by the women of Rainier Hotel, a women’s supportive housing project should be reason enough to stop what you’re doing + head to East Van Roasters! Kendra + I met up during our lunch break for this week’s stop to indulge in their tasty treats + rich, but not bitter coffee. mmm..

You can take their whole beans + chocolate bars away to share the deliciousness with your favourites:) Though I recommend hangin’ in their beautiful, naturally lit cafe complete with exposed brick, donated grand fir pews for seating, and a window to check out the chocolate-making process.

If you’re around Vancouver definitely make a stop! The women are sweet + ready to answer any you questions you may have about chocolate:)
