Last week I headed home for a quick trip to visit my grandma as she’s been ill. I was lucky enough to tie it into work + meet with some of our Chicago clients. Whew. Easily one of the most emotionally exhausting trips I’ve ever taken. It’s strange as you get older, the annoyances of siblings + home slowly turn into the imperfections you absolutely adore about them and somehow miss even while you’re there – have you experienced that?
My grandma + I were only able share an hour in the garden with her being so weak, but gosh do i feel so thankful for those moments. This woman has been and still is a constant inspiration in everything I do. “ang, the world is a harsh place, but don’t give up on love – keep on loving everything + everyone, it will never steer you in the wrong direction” grams, you’re right:) don’t you agree!?
I also finally met the two new additions to my family, my baby niece + nephew. My family keeps growing + i’m not complaining! Oh my, i wanted to eat them up. so cute.
some of my favourite moments included..
+ beachin’ + beers with my girls
+ early morning conversations over coffee with mom
+ adventures with the nieces + nephew which always include too much candy + ice cream + their wild imagination+ sleepovers – can i just pack them up + bring them back to canada, please!?
+ dad’s cooking
+ all the hugs
+ bbq + dinner catch ups with family + friends
+ kissin’ + lovin’ on the baby twins
+ reminiscing with grandma about grandpa because that makes her the happiest
+ baseball games
+ runs with lexi, even if she ends up wasting me every. single. time.
Though the visit was short, it was filled with an abundance of love:)
xx
