This weekend was absolutely incredible. On Friday afternoon my mind was convinced there would be no way I was going to be able to finish the half marathon. Work and the craziness of life really had me spinning in circles.
On my drive down to Indy I had plenty of time to organize my thoughts. I made it clear that not only am I going to finish, but I am going to rock this race. I was right. I beat the humidity, the crazy work week, and the lack of sleep – boy, did I feel awesome! As I crossed the finish line I was floating on candy clouds – not a worry in the world. Couldn’t believe it! I finished a half marathon and raised over $1500 for the darlings of Head Start! Exceeded my goal by $1,000! (in just two weeks!!)
This was more than just a run for me. It was a challenge against all the cant’s & non-believers. It was a way to prove to myself that regardless of what happens, I can make it work. We have the ability to do whatever we want. The ability to easily make things better for one another. Doesn’t that make you want to get up and do something grand right this minute? It should.
Now, all seriousness aside, how cute is my t-shirt? The cool little kids I’ve been telling you about made it for me! They asked my mom this morning if I won the race. ahh, i love it. Monday is booked for delivery of the shoes. eaaa!
xx
